The Chobham Sixth Form is a professional environment and we expect students to dress accordingly. Students must come to school in business wear of a high standard which would not be out of place in the office of a major company.
For boys, this means a suit and tie.
For girls, it means smart, formal dress which would be appropriate in a workplace (including a blazer as compulsory).
Clothing items, which are not appropriate include:
- Large, chunky knit jumpers
- Polo necked jumpers
- Polo shirts
- ‘Kicker’ shoes
- Short skirts or dresses. All skirts or dresses should be knee length
- Anything in lycra
- Any large jewellery – earrings, necklaces, rings, nose rings. The only facial jewellery permitted is a nose stud
- Visible tattoos
- Designer shoes which resemble trainers.
Clearly, there may be an element of judgement in determining what is reasonable for school. In any cases of disagreement, the school may use its discretion and the decision of the Academy is final.
For Sports Academy students, sportswear must be branded with the Chobham West Ham logo. Sports Academy students must wear business dress at all times when they are not directly engaged in sport.
